Senior Pastor

001

I began my call as Senior Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in December 2013.

I am a graduate of Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, Berkeley, California and St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota.  Prior to coming to Trinity, I served congregations in Minnesota and Illinois, beginning in 1997.  My husband, Erik, and I are blessed to be the parents of two sons.  Erik serves as the Senior Pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, also in Jamestown.

I love the vibrancy of Trinity’s ministry with children, youth and families and the deep care and concern for senior adults who live at home or in local care centers.

Administrative & Financial Secretary

Scott, Jolene 9991 em (1)

I grew up in New Rockford and Jamestown, graduating from Jamestown and then later St. Cloud State University with a BS in public accounting in 1980.  I worked at Stutsman County State Bank until 1985 when I got married and became a stay at home mom.

I started my ministry at Trinity in 1997 as the part-time financial secretary and then added the administrative side in 2005.  In my spare time, I enjoy reading and quilting.  My husband Mike and I have 3 grown children, all of who were baptized and confirmed at Trinity.

Trinity has been my church family since 1980 and has truly been there for me and my family throughout the years.  The warmth and compassion of the parishioners has gotten us through trials and tribulations.

She loves the privilege and opportunity of coming along side children, women, and families each week through play time at Stepping Stones, bible studies, family classes and events, and our Faith Quest rotational-style Sunday school program, but most importantly, growing in relationship with Christ and experiencing,  teaching,  and sharing His love and message of Good News together as a community of faith.

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys quiet reading and reflecting, thrift store shopping, and spending time with her wonderful husband, Aaron and her spirited daughters, Samara and Anja.

Youth Coordinator

Dobson, Kirstie 3199 em

A native New Orleanean, I have been in Jamestown and a member of Trinity for more than 15 years. In those first years, I volunteered with youth, children and music and in 2008 was hired as part-time Youth Assistant. With each passing year, my passion for and commitment to our young people grow. I am so grateful to be serving our Lord and Savior with the youth of this community. Thank you, Trinity, for the opportunity.

I love Trinity for many reasons. So many, in fact, that I would hate to list only a few.  My favorite thing about Trinity, though, is not a thing at all. It is the people. The people of Trinity are welcoming, loving, encouraging , faithful, supportive and resilient. I feel blessed to be among you.

Shirley Laber                slaber@daktel.com

Pastoral Assistant and Stephen Ministry Leader

Laber, Shirley 3169 em

My job as Pastoral Assistant is to visit the homebound and bring them communion once a month.  I also visit people in the hospital and nursing homes.  Visiting those who are grieving or in a crisis, attending staff meetings and assisting with Parish Care are some of my other responsibilities.

My job as Stephen Ministry Leader is to train others in our congregation to go out once a week and visit people who are in a crisis.  These people are appointed by the leader or a pastor.

I have been a member of Trinity for many years.  I feel the warmth of the people and it feels like family.
